The fundamentals of this liberating method of grant writing are presented in this workshop. Participants will discover first hand what a seasoned grant proposal evaluator looks for while reading grant submissions. You will learn step by step how to incorporate project administration and evaluation into a grant proposal. Everyone from the veteran development director to the dedicated volunteer will benefit from this training. |
This workshop session features actual grant writing and peer review. Participants will have the opportunity to share previous experience/training in grant writing. Everyone is invited, but not required, to bring grant applications they wish to have reviewed and completed. Highlighted topics include Federal Forms, Budget Forms, Budget Narratives, and Accounting Methodology. Grant Presentation Methods will be discussed with a focus on Link Statements, Cover Letter items and Communication with the funder. Exemplary case studies will be presented. This workshop features a special emphasis on larger dollar grants and federal applications. |

To use grant writing as a community organization tool. How to put heart in your problem statement. The importance of writing out goals and objectives in a proper format.
Welcome & Introduction How agencies can maximize resources. Lecture, Discussion & Brainstorming. Review of multiple funding sources including, but not limited to, state, local and federal government; private corporate and community foundations. Listing of fifteen ways to make an organization more likely to be funded. Identification of twenty-two items to have immediately available before writing a grant. Review of the Non Profit Corporation structure and roles & responsibilities of Board & Staff. Lunch - On Your Own The Elements of a Grant. Lecture, Small Group Discussion & Role Play. Review of Problem Statements, Goal Statements and Objectives based on the "management by objectives" concept. Compare and contrast a Letter of Proposal, Letter of Inquiry, RFP and Common Grant Application. Develop/practice writing elements of a Foundation Grant Application. 5:00 PM DAY 1 Close |
